MADISON (AP) - The Assembly speaker is reforming a committee that oversees risky state information technology projects after receiving criticism for failing to appoint its members earlier.
Speaker Mike Sheridan has appointed Democratic Reps. Gary Sherman of Port Wing, Marlin Schneider of Wisconsin Rapids and Cory Mason of Racine to the panel. Sherman will serve as co-chair along with Sen. Pat Kreitlow, D-Chippewa Falls.
Sheridan said the committee, which has not met since March 2008, would meet more often than it has in recent years.
The panel had been dormant since 2003, but was restarted after a 2007 audit faulted a lack of oversight for IT projects that faced delays and cost overruns.
