Nobel Prize winner grew up in Superior
Oliver Williamson shares Nobel Prize in economics

SUPERIOR (AP) - One of the winners of the Nobel economics prize grew up in northern Wisconsin.
Americans Elinor Ostrom and Oliver Williamson won the honor Monday in Stockholm, Sweden, for their analyses of economic governance - the rules by which people exercise authority in companies and economic systems.
According to a student services spokeswoman for the Superior School District, the 77-year-old Williamson was born in Superior in September 1932 and graduated from Central High School there in June 1950.
After high school, he attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated from there in 1955.
Williamson is now at the Walter A. Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
