UNION GROVE (AP) - Family and friends of Army Spc. Kevin Graham are remembering the fallen Kenosha County soldier as a hero.
The 27-year-old was killed last month in Afghanistan when his vehicle hit a roadside bomb.
Graham lived in Salem in Kenosha County since 1991, then moved to Fairdealing, Ky., four years ago.
At a service in Union Grove on Sunday, hundreds of people paid their respects.
Tristan Miller of Salem was one of Graham's best friends. He says Graham enlisted because he wanted to take a stand for his country.
The Rev. Colson Leach says Graham was known in the church as "Military Kevin" because everyone knew he was going to be a soldier.
Graham was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team based in Fort Lewis, Wash.
