WAUKESHA (AP) - A New Berlin student accused of blackmailing boys for sex in a scam that started on Facebook is asking for lower bail.

A criminal complaint says 18-year-old Anthony Stancl posed as a girl on Facebook, tricked his classmates into sending him naked photos and then used the photos to blackmail the boys for sex acts.

Stancl's attorney Craig Kuhary asked a Waukesha County judge Thursday to lower Stancl's bail from $250,000 to $75,000.

Kuhary says Stancl wants to get his high school diploma and would have adult supervision at all times.

District Attorney Brad Schimel says the cash bail should remain high because Stancl, if convicted, faces substantial time in prison.

The judge will give his decision on bail July 9.
