Shedding some light on the Wisconsin governor's race a year and a week before the election: A survey by the St. Norbert College Survey Center released Tuesday addresses impressions of the leading candidates so far and their name recognition.
The questions were asked before Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton announced she's out as a candidate.
Lawton's name recognition was highest, ahead of fellow Democrat, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, and Republicans, former U.S. Rep. Mark Neumann and Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker.
Keep in mind the survey has a five percent margin of error.
Among those who said they knew of the candidate, preferences changed. Barrett led the way in making a favorable impression, followed by Walker, Neumann and then Lawton.
