1 dead, 1 injured in Rhinelander house fire

RHINELANDER, Wis. (AP) - Investigators are looking into the cause of a fatal house fire in Rhinelander.

Fire officials say a man died in the fire Wednesday, but a woman was able to escape. Witnesses told WJFW-TV she is the victim's wife.

Authorities say she was already outside of the residence when firefighters arrived. She was transported to the hospital as firefighters focused on trying to find the man as the fire raged.

The state fire marshal has been contacted.
