You can commemorate the Wisconsin State Capitol on your own Christmas tree.
The 2012 version of the Wisconsin State Capitol Ornament features a design based on the “Liberty” mosaic at the Capitol. One of four glass tile mosaics located between the arches in the Capitol Rotunda, “Liberty” was designed by artist and author Kenyon Young in 1912.
In keeping with the holiday spirit, the young woman representing Liberty is wearing a red cap and is dressed in two shades of green, the color of youth and hope.
The ornament costs $16 and is available online, as well as at several stores in Madison. Proceeds go toward the State Capitol Restoration Fund.
