TOWN OF BIG FLATS, Wis. (AP) - Authorities say a missing person case in the Milwaukee suburb of West Allis led to a shooting in Adams County of central Wisconsin that left a sheriff's deputy and a suspect wounded.

West Allis Acting Police Chief Charles Padgett says his department got a call around 6 p.m. Tuesday about a 52-year-old woman who was missing under suspicious circumstances. She had a no-contact order against her 55-year-old husband due to recent domestic incidents.

Authorities tracked them to Adams County, where the shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. in a home in the Town of Big Flats.

Sheriff Sam Wollin says the suspect fired several shots at two officers, wounding the deputy before shooting himself. He says the officers did not return fire.

The extent of their injuries has not been released.
