Four new members of the state’s Small Business Regulatory Review Board are from Northeast Wisconsin.

The governor’s office announced the addition of five small business representatives to the board ahead of Wednesday night’s State of the State address.

The new members are:

  • Steve Davis - Co-owner, Ardy & Ed's Drive-In, Oshkoksh
  • Erich Korth - Vice President, Transport Repair Specialists Inc., New London
  • Thomas Wulf - President/CEO, Wulf Bros. Inc., Sturgeon Bay
  • Kimberly Vele - Owner, Konkapot Lodge, Bowler
  • Jim Ring - President/CEO, Park Towne Development Corp, Madison

During the State of the State, Republican Governor Scott Walker will discuss the purpose of the board.

"To create more jobs, employers told us they also need help cutting through the red tape of government," Walker said in a release. "The Small Business Regulatory Review Board has the authority to review every rule in all of our state agencies. They will work to remove antiquated and unnecessary regulations that pose a threat to creating new jobs."

Walker campaigned in 2010 on the promise that given four years in charge, 250,000 more people would be put to work in the private sector. But after one year on the job the state has added just 13,500 jobs and losses have been reported each of the past six months.
