DENMARK - Students from Denmark High School were honored Wednesday for helping the community.
Area veterans gave them a plaque for their services.
The students built on to the Veterans Memorial Park Shelter in Denmark.
The new 16 by 32 foot addition will hold food shelter supplies.
Supporters say the project also helped the students.
"This is our construction class here at Denmark High School. Most of these guys are going to be able to got to NWTC and some, in some sort of trade, some related to construction, said Denmark High School Technical Education Instructor Tim Kapinos. Adding, "It's just kind of a jump start for them to get the basics of construction and kind of understanding how construction trade works."
The shelter will benefit the Denmark Community Cupboard whose cupboard space had been full.
