MADISON (AP) - Gov. Scott Walker will be joining Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney when he campaigns in Janesville on Monday.
Walker's campaign spokesman Tom Evenson says Walker will be with Romney for the stop at Monterey Mills. It is Romney's first visit to the state since he won the GOP primary in April. It also comes about two weeks after Walker won a recall election.
Walker said in Washington, D.C., on Thursday that his recall victory provides no assurance Republicans would carry Wisconsin in November. He said Mitt Romney "has a shot" in Wisconsin but has to appeal to more than just Republicans and needs to hone his economic message.
U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, frequently mentioned as a possible Romney running mate, also plans to be at the Janesville event.
