WEST BEND, Wis. (AP) - The West Bend woman whose empty car was found partially submerged in the Milwaukee River in Washington County has been found dead days after she disappeared.

Washington County sheriff's officials say the body of 39-year-old Kathy Van Altena was discovered Tuesday afternoon.

Members of a civilian dog search team located the woman's body not far from where her car was found in the river Sunday near Fillmore.

Deputies say Van Altena's car dropped off a two-lane bridge and into the river.
