MILWAUKEE (AP) - A Nobel Prize winner is speaking at Marquette University this week.

Joseph Taylor shared the Nobel Prize in physics with Russell Hulse in 1993 for their discovery of a unique twin star system known as a binary pulsar, which they used to verify Einstein's general theory of relativity.

Pulsars are neutron stars which are extremely dense, strongly magnetized, rapidly spinning remnants of supernova explosions and appear to be nature's most precise clocks.

Taylor retired from Princeton University in 2006.

He will present "Binary Pulsars and Relativistic Gravity" on Tuesday. The event is free and open to the public.
