MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin elections officials say the November election cost local governments about $10 million.

The Government Accountability Board released data Tuesday that said poll worker wages topped the list of expenses at $3.2 million. Election official staff cost $3 million and ballots cost $1.4 million.

Fewer than 11 percent of voters registered at the polls, down from more than 15 percent in November 2008. GAB Director Kevin Kennedy said more voters likely were already registered after last spring's recall elections and April's presidential primary.
