MADISON (AP) - A Wisconsin woman who, along with her conjoined twin, made headlines 27 years ago when they were surgically separated, is making news again.

Amy Hurt, of Antigo, is a brand new mother, giving birth to daughter Phoenix Rain at Meriter Hospital in Madison, where she and her twin had separation surgery in June 1984. Several doctors had warned Amy and her husband, Aaron, about becoming parents because of all the previous surgeries Amy had endured.

The State Journal says neonatologist Dr. Frank Greer visited the new mother after she gave birth last month and brought along a couple boxes of slides from her surgery 27 years earlier. Greer says there are relatively few conjoined patients who go on to deliver a child. He plans forward the case to a medical journal.
