LANCASTER, Wis. (AP) - Grant County sheriff's officials are recommending felony charges for a 16-year-old driver involved in a crash that killed another teen and injured three others.
Fifteen-year-old Makayla Hore of Lancaster was killed in the one-vehicle crash near Stitzer on Nov. 22. Her 17-year-old sister, a 15-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl were injured.
Sheriff's investigators say based on physical evidence and witnesses, speed apparently contributed to the crash. All those in the vehicle were wearing seat belts.
Authorities are recommending one count of homicide by negligent use of a vehicle and three counts of reckless driving causing great bodily harm.
