STEVENS POINT (AP) - A Portage County jury has convicted a 20-year-old man of stabbing a woman to death after a party was broken up last May.
Jurors on Monday found Tyler Dahms guilty of first-degree reckless homicide in the death of 37-year-old Karen Dombrowski.
The jury also convicted Dahms of second-degree attempted intentional homicide for stabbing her brother-in-law, Kenneth Dombrowski. WSAW-TV reports Dahms was acquitted on attempted homicide charges in the stabbing of Karen Dombrowski's husband, Michael Dombrowski. The brothers both survived.
Prosecutors say Dahms and several others were asked to leave a party at a home in the Town of New Hope. Prosecutors alleged Dahms returned to pick up his truck and stabbed the Dombrowkis as they approached him.
Dahms faces a mandatory life sentence. A sentencing date has not been set.
