MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Gov. Scott Walker is scheduled to speak next week at a Florida event hosted by the conservative James Madison Institute.
The institute says Walker plans to give a speech at a golf resort in Naples, Fla.
Tickets for non-members ranged from $100 per person to $2,500 for table sponsorships.
Institute spokeswoman Tanja Clendinen says ticket costs are covering expenses for the event, and none of the money raised will go to Walker.
Walker has been traveling across the country appearing at similar events as he's racked up more than $12 million to defend himself from a potential recall election.
Recall organizers say they have submitted about 1 million signatures to force a recall election. It takes about 540,000. Election officials are in the process of verifying the signatures.
