MADISON (AP) - The Wisconsin Better Business Bureau says mail order and catalog shopping businesses top the list for complaints last year.
The BBB says in its annual report for 2012 that department stores accounted for the second-most complaints followed by auto dealers.
Bureau spokeswoman Kimberly Hazen says it received 1.7 million requests for information about businesses last year, a 20 percent increase from 2011. Hazen says the higher number of inquiries before work was done led to 1,000 fewer complaints.
The most inquiries were filed for roofing contractors, followed by construction and remodeling services, heating and air conditioning and auto repair and service.
Consumers can file inquiries and complaints online or by call.
