MADISON (AP) - The state Department of Natural Resources has a new Bureau of Air Management director.
Bart Sponseller started in the position on Jan. 30. He's been with the DNR since 2004 and has led the agency's air monitoring program since 2008. He takes over the bureau director spot from John Melby, Jr., who retired at the end of June.
The Bureau of Air Management implements federal and state air pollution laws, develops plans for achieving national emission standards, issues air permits and monitors air quality.
