GREEN BAY - After five hours of deliberations, the jury in the trial of Anrietta "Monique" Geske has a verdict.

Geske faced 7 felony charges.

Jurors found Geske guilty on two counts of first degree reckless homicide, two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, and one count of first degree reckless endangerment.

Geske was found not guilty on two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle with prohibited alcohol concentration.

The jury started deliberations today at about 11:15 am.

During deliberations the jury had a question for the judge about the difference between exhibits they had seen and not seen over the course of the trial.

The judge responded to this question by telling them that anything received as evidence during the trial can be considered.

Prosecutors have argued the 46-year-old was drunk and was speeding on South Oneida Street in Ashwaubenon last June, when she collided with another car, killing two eighteen year olds: Ashley Britsch-Knetzger and Tahlia Heroux.

The defense spent just one day, Friday, making its case to the jury. An accident reconstruction expert said Geske was probably driving 52-57 miles an hour at the time of the crash. The state's analyst had estimated she was driving more than 80 miles an hour. After some technical testimony, Geske herself got on the witness stand.

Geske said she had been reaching for her pet chihuahua when her foot accidentally pushed in the accelerator, forcing the accident.
