ASHWAUBENON - It was the kind of welcome usually reserved for rock stars. And while the Resch Center is certainly no stranger to celebrities, this one was definitely a first.

Harry is the world's strongest chicken - allegedly. Harry's fans came out to welcome him to town, and to help promote this weekend's rodeo.

"It's so exciting to see Harry get out of the limo," said Sheila Steinfeldt of De Pere.

Harry and his trainer, rodeo clown Rory Meeks, will help entertain the crowds this weekend.

"He lifts weights, eats a lot of corn, the starch that's what gives him the big muscles," Meeks said.

So what's Harry's trick?

"He can pull me and a cart right out in the rodeo arena," Meeks said.

Harry did not perform his trick for the media. But we found a picture of Harry's chariot. A close look at the chariot might make you wonder how strong Harry really is. With tongue planted firmly in cheek, Meeks told us what his partner Harry stands for.

"Harry symbolizes power," he said.

But some say the alleged strongest chicken symbolizes much more. Marilyn Roffers is an animal rights activist in Green Bay.

"I don't know why people need animals to entertain them," Roffers said.

Roffers doesn't like the rodeo much. That's what Harry is here to promote. His trainer says for a chicken, Harry seems pretty happy to be a part of it.

"He loves it," Meeks said. "Look at the alternative, especially if you're a chicken."

The rodeo will have shows Saturday and Sunday. Harry will be performing Saturday night. Click here for more information .
