Avid anglers are counting down the hours until the inland fishing season opener.
FOX 11's Martin Ross was on Good Day Wisconsin Friday to explain the rules and regulations.
Focusing on the large and small mouth bass season and zones, the state has Wisconsin divided into two zones.
The Northern Zone is catch and release only from now until June 19th.
However, the Southern Zone opens May 1st with a minimum length limit of 14" and a daily bag limit of five.
The musky and northern pike fishing seasons are also broken into two zones.
Northern pike are open to fishing in Northern Zones starting May 1st, but musky are not.
Anglers are going to have to wait a little linger, 29 days, to get Wisconsin's prized trophy fish.
Musky season is open in the Southern Zone starting May 1st, though.
