Green Bay - The UWGB Phoenix men's team used a late run to overcome poor free throw shooting and beat Northern Michigan 70-64 in Green Bay's home opener.
The Phoenix got a late three from Rahmon Fletcher to pull away in the last two minutes. At one point the Phoenix were just 2-12 from the free throw line, but gradually improved to 13-29 on the game. Fletcher and Troy Cotton each scored 19 points to lead the Phoenix.
The win puts the Phoenix at 4-1 after a 3-1 road trip which opened the season last weekend, finishing up a stretch where the Phoenix played five games in just six days.
