MARYVALE, AZ - The youth movement is in full effect for the Milwaukee Brewers pitching staff.

Pitchers and catchers reported to Maryvale, Arizona today.  Team ace Yovani Gallardo says he looks forward to seeing what some of the young starters can bring to the table.

"We're going to have a lot of young guys with Marco [Estrada], [Wily] Peralta, [Mike] Fiers, [Mark] Rogers, whoever those guys might be," said Gallardo.  "Who knows, but we had the opportunity to watch them pitch last year and we saw them pitch in key situations."

Lefty Chris Narveson (1981) is technically the oldest player in the running for a spot in the Brewers rotation, but Gallardo's four full seasons in the majors are most among Milwaukee's rotation hopefuls.

Former first-round pick Mark Rogers is excited to be in big league camp.

"It will be nice to get on the bump and face some hitters," Rogers said.  "I've thrown a lot of bullpens, getting ready for spring and we'll continue to do that over the next couple weeks, but I feel ready to go."

The Brewers first spring training game is slated for Saturday, February 23rd against the Oakland Athletics.  Opening Days is April 1st in Milwaukee against the Colorado Rockies.
