MILWAUKEE - Tyler Thornburg made one start at Triple-A Nashville before the Milwaukee Brewers decided it was time for him to come back to the big leagues.
Brewers Media Relations Director Mike Vassallo reported on his official Twitter feed that Milwaukee recalled Thornburg from Nashville and outrighted relief pitcher Tim Dillard to make room. Dillard has the right to refuse the assignment and become a free agent.
Brewers General Manager Doug Melvin told beat writer Adam McCalvy that Thornburg will be used out of the bullpen for now.
Nashville infielder Jeff Bianchi was also promoted to the big-league club and will join Milwaukee on Friday.
