MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Senior quarterback Brian Fliess ran for three touchdowns as
Burlington Catholic Central repeated as WIAA Division 7 state
football champion beating Chippewa Falls McDonell 27-15 Thursday at
Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.
The Hilltoppers (13-1), whose only loss came to Wilmot 7-0 in
their season opener, became the first team to win more than one
Division 7 title since the division was added in 2002.
Catholic Central dominated statistically, outgaining the
Macks 320-133 and holding the ball for 33:21 of the 48-minute game.
Junior Luke Ryba accounted for more than half of the yards for
McDonell (10-4) with a 68-yard touchdown run with 1:46 to play and
the outcome all but decided.
