Class: Senior
Position: Safety. Vanden Heuvel got his first live action on the field at the end of his freshman year. He has started at safety since his sophomore year.
Major: Biology – Biomedical Concentration

Special Interests: Vanden Heuvel is an avid outdoorsman. He loves to fish, hunt and spend time outside. He loves to play all types of sports including golf, football, tennis, and basketball. He enjoys hanging out with his friends and spending time with his family.
Hometown/School attended – Vanden Heuvel grew up in Appleton. He played football and basketball all four years of high school along with golf his freshmen year and track his sophomore year at Appleton West High School.

College honors: Vanden Heuvel has been on the Dean’s List every semester thus far (6 total). His overall GPA is 3.77. He has received academic all-conference honors in both the 2010 and 2011 seasons. He was a second team all-conference selection as a safety in the 2011 season.

Community service: Vanden Heuvel volunteered with the American Foundation of Counseling Service where he spent time with foster children. He wrote letters for St. Jude Children’s Hospital asking for donations as part of the service project that the St. Norbert College football team performs. He also helped set up the Relay for Life cancer fundraising event, which took place on campus at St. Norbert College last March. This summer, he also started volunteering at the non-profit Tri-County Community Dental Clinic in Appleton.

Future endeavors: Vanden Heuvel is currently a pre-dental student at St. Norbert College. He is applying to dental schools right now. He hopes to become a dentist and use his career to give back to his community, help others and improve their quality of life.
