Oshkosh, St. Norbert learn football fates

Titans get St. Scholastica, SNC gets Tommies

UW-Oshkosh and St. Norbert College are both moving on to the NCAA Division III football playoffs.

The Titans (10-0) will face St. Scholastica (8-2, Duluth, Minn.) Saturday at Titan Stadium, while the Green Knights (8-2) will travel to St. Paul, Minn. to face the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion St. Thomas (10-0) at noon on Saturday.

While St. Norbert has made the playoffs before, UWO hasn't and the Titans are excited.

"I always dreamed about making the playoffs and traveling to California or out East or just traveling," UWO coach Pat Cerroni said. "To do it at home I never envisioned it."

Added RB Cole: "I was actually kind of nervous, I don't know why. We didn't know who we were going to play we didn't really look into it, now that we know, we're excited and I know the coaches will go get us ready."

Now that the Titans know who they're facing in the first round, it's time to sit down and study hard on their first round opponent.

"Once they put it up there I just wanted to go back to the stadium and start working on football," Cerroni said.

"We all believe and we know we have the will to go out there and beat any team you put out there," Myhra said.

The ultimate goal is still ahead for Titans but they know they're in the midst of something special.

"It's a great feeling to know we've got a chance to make a difference in this program," QB Nate Wara said.
