GREEN BAY - Seven-foot Phoenix junior Alec Brown has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week.
Brown averaged 20.5 points-per-game and became the 25th player in UW-Green Bay history to pass the 1,000-point mark. He scored a career-high 23 points against UW-Milwaukee Friday, as the Phoenix beat the Panthers 74-54 to earn its first road win of the season.
Brown also scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a loss to Valparaiso earlier in the week. The junior is averaging 12.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game.
The Phoenix is currently tied for second place in the conference. The team's next game is at the University of Illinois-Chicago on Thursday night.
