GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Phoenix men's and women's basketball teams were both winners on Saturday. The men defeated North Dakota State 74-59 at the Resch Center.
They're in the middle of a run where they'll play 7 of 8 games on the road. The friendly confines of the Resch Center seemed to agree with them Saturday.
Keifers Sykes had a game high 21 points and 4 assists to pace Green Bay. Sultan Muhammed added 13 while Kam Cerroni and Brennan Cougill each contributed 12. Alec Brown added 10 points.
The Phoenix were 9 of 17 from beyond the 3-point stripe on the evening. They are now 2-3 on the season.
The women's team meanwhile finished their trip to Cancun on a high note. They stomped on the Richmond Spiders 79-48. Sarah Eichler had a game high 26 points and Adrian Ritchie added 14. The ladies also found success from long range converting 14 of 24 threes.
Kevin Borseth's club is now 4-1 on the season.
