DE PERE - The St. Norbert men's hockey team has earned a bye into the quarterfinals of the 2013 NCAA division three hockey championship.
The Green Knights will play the winner of the matchup between St. John's (Minnesota) and UW-Eau Claire. The quarterfinal game will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Community Center in De Pere.
St. Norbert (23-5-1) received the top seed in the West Region for the 11th time in 12 years. It's the 14th NCAA tournament appearance for the Green Knights, who have a record of 22-10-1 in the national tournament. The team is the defending back-to-back division three national champions.
Eau Claire (20-5-2) fell 3-0 to St. Norbert in the finals of the NCHA Peters Cup Playoffs this season. St. John's shared the 2012-13 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season title with St. Thomas.
