GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Phoenix defeated the Wisconsin Badgers 53-38 at the Kress Events Center Saturday. The win is Green Bay's fourth consecutive in the series.
Thee Phoenix struggling to find their footing offensive early but a dominating defensive performance had them leading comfortably at halftime. Wisconsin had more turnovers, 15 than points, 10. The Badgers shot 15 percent from the floor in the opening half.
Wisconsin had a surge after the break that made it a contest again but with strong play inside from Stephanie Sension they turned the tide. Sension, scored a team high 13 points for Green Bay. Adrian Ritchie added 12 points for the Phoenix.
The 53-38 win moves them to 7-2 on the season and drops Wisconsin to 7-3. The Phoenix are back in action next Sunday, on the road, against Wichita State.
