Fuller will return to Blizzard for second season

GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Blizzard has announced head coach Robert Fuller will return to the sidelines for a second season with the team.

Fuller has been named the Indoor Football League's Coach of the Year the past two seasons. He has also been the recipient of the Adam Pringle Award for outstanding service and dedication to the surrounding community. The 2013 season will mark Fuller's sixth season as a head coach in indoor football.

Blizzard Chief Operating Officer Art Clarkson stated, "There was no question of bringing Coach Fuller back. It really was up to him whether he wanted to come back. We're just happy to have such a quality person part of our organization."

"Green Bay is a special place with an incredible fan base and is year in and year out one of the top franchises in the IFL. Our expectations are high for this season and we are working hard to build another blue collar team that the city of Green Bay can be proud of."
 
Fuller will look to build upon an 11-3 regular season in 2012. In his first season in Green Bay, Fuller led the Blizzard to the No. 2 seed in the United Conference. The Blizzard won its first-round playoff match-up, but dropped the United Conference Championship game in Sioux Falls.
 
Under Fuller's leadership, the Blizzard had three players named All-IFL. As the offensive play caller, Fuller directed the IFL's top rushing offense with 1,458 yards and ranks third in points scored. Running back La'Ron Council accounted for 1,040 of the rushing yards and became the first Indoor Football League player to rush for 1,000 yards, an extreme rarity in indoor football.
 
Last season, the Blizzard had the IFL's top defense. Green Bay's defense allowed an IFL low 206.6 yards per game and also forced a league-leading 40 turnovers. Seven of those turnovers directly resulted in defensive touchdowns.
 
The Blizzard's special teams unit was second in the IFL in kick return yards and managed to return five kickoffs for touchdowns, good for second in the league.
 
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Fuller and the Blizzard players have been actively involved with various events in the Green Bay community.
