GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Gamblers annual New Year's Eve game started slowly, but ended with an overtime win, beating Muskegon 6-5.
The Lumberjacks jumped out to a two nothing lead after 3:18 of the first period, but came back and actually took the lead in the third period before giving up the equalizer late in the game.
Nick Schmaltz scored on a re-direct for the game winner in overtime. It gave Schmaltz the hat trick, his third goal of the game.
