GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Gamblers are making a move behind the net.
Second-year goalie Adam Wilcox has been traded to the Tri-City Storm (4-11-0) for their first-round pick in the 2012 USHL Entry Draft.
The Gamblers say this trade was tough.
“Adam is a very good goalie and a better person and we appreciated his time in Green Bay,” said head coach Derek Lalonde in a release.
Wilcox is 7-2-0 in 9 games this season. He has a 2.27 GAA and a 91.8 save percentage.
Wilcox’s play has caught the attention of NHL scouts; he was drafted in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Gamblers (12-3-0) still have two goaltenders on the roster, Ryan McKay and Mike Rotolo.
Green Bay kicks off a three game homestand Wednesday as they welcome the Indiana Ice to the Resch Center.
