Little Chute - This is the Mustang Café. “It’s a student run café,” says Madeline Clifford, Student who is part of the cafe and aide to the teacher.
“Kids could come in in the morning and get a little pick me up,” adds instructor of the class; Tiffany Scheeler.
Thanks to a grant awarded to the school this year the students in the “Culinary Arts B,” explains Mitch Steger, student of the class, class have the opportunity to gain knowledge in the food service industry, “It teaches us how to run kitchen or restaurant if we were to go into that business,” says Steger
Keeping up with the demand of students and facility can be a challenge. But, that’s the food service industry, right?
“We serve around 50 people each morning and we’re only open about a half and hour,” adds Scheeler.
Café advisor and instructor, Tiffany Scheeler wasn’t sure if the café would go over well when it first opened.
“I was a little nervous about the mornings, I wasn’t sure if kids would come in that early to get coffee and cappuccinos. A lot of our business comes about 5/10 minutes before the bell,” giggles Scheeler.
“If it keeps growing and there is more demand for it then,” explains Sheeler, hopefully expand in the future says Sheeler optimistically.
And, the favorite among the students,” The iced cappuccinos,' says Clifford.
