Notre Dame receives a No. 1 seed in boys hockey

The WIAA released the brackets for the boys and girls postseason and as expected Notre Dame received a No. 1 seed in the boys tournament.

The defending state champion Tritons, ranked No. 1 in the state, received a round bye and will play the winner of No. 9 Xavier Co-op-No. 8 Green Bay Southwest Co-op on Feb. 14 or Feb. 15 in a regional final. Xavier and Southwest play a regional semifinal on Feb. 12.

Also, in the same sectional, De Pere/West De Pere Co-op is seeded No. 2 and will play No. 7 Neenah Co-op in a regional final; No. 3 Appleton East Co-op will play No. 6 Oshkosh North Co-op in a regional final; and No. 4 Bay Port will play No. 5 Waupaca in a regional final.

In a different sectional, Fond du Lac received a No. 1 seed and will open play in a regional final against the winner of No. 8 Hamilton Co-op-No. 9 Brookfield East Co-op.

Meanwhile, on the girls’ side,  Green Bay East Co-op received a No. 3 seed and will open against No. 6 Fond du Lac Co-op on a regional final Feb 14 or Feb 15.

Also, No. 4 Appleton West Co-op will play No. 5 Arrowhead in a regional final And No. 7 Xavier Co-op will play No. 2 University School Co-op.
