Deer hunters, the Department of Natural Resources wants to know what kind of animals you’re seeing out in the woods.
The Deer Hunter Wildlife Survey is available on the DNR’s website. The agency asks hunters to let wildlife biologists know what they are or are not seeing during the hunt.
In the first two months of this year’s survey, the DNR says hunters have recorded more than 1,809 observations. Hunters have recorded 840 bucks, 1,517 does, 1,136 fawns and 412 unknowns. Deer seen per hour varies by region, ranging from 0.85 in the “Eastern Farmland” region to 0.42 in the “Northern Forest” region.
Hunters who provide their email address will receive a personalized summary of their 2012 deer hunting season.
