A new poll suggests many Wisconsinites want the government to spend money to preserve the Great Lakes.

The Healing Our Waters-Great Lakes Coalition conducted the poll.

It shows 75 percent of participants support continued funding for restoration programs. Also according to the study, 60 percent of participants said they support building a barrier to keep Asian carp out of the lakes.

This comes about a month after the a joint state and federal study showed no DNA evidence of the fish has been found in Wisconsin's Lake Michigan tributaries or harbors.
