GREEN BAY - Former Packers defensive tackle Johnny Jolly will be reinstated by the NFL.
A league spokesperson told FOX 11's Drew Smith the action will be effective Monday, March 4th.
Jolly has been suspended since he violated the league's substance abuse policy before the 2010 season. He was arrested again in October of 2011 when authorities say they found a codeine mixture in Jolly's possession. It was Jolly's third arrest on drug charges in a three-year period. He was sentenced to six years in prison, but was released after only five months due to "shock probation," a program that allows early release for first-time inmates after they've experienced the shock of being behind bars.
Green Bay still holds the rights to Jolly, who signed a one-year, $2.52 million contract before the 2010 season. The Packers drafted him in 2006.
