Fans looking for package deals to San Francisco

Packages near sold out as tickets remain available

ASHWAUBENON - It's been a busy few days for area travel agents, helping fans make plans to head to northern California this weekend.

Employees at Packers Fan Tours in Ashwaubenon, went into work at halftime of Saturday's Vikings game to start helping with the process.

“As far as road, second round games, this is good,” said Eran Roth, the operations manager for Packers Fan Tours.

Multiple travel agencies told FOX 11 almost all fans are looking for packaged deals.

Packers Fan Tours is nearly sold out of its packages. They include everything from game tickets and travel, to lodging and a tailgate party. Some packages are priced below $500.

“It really all depends on what the customer is looking for,” said Roth. “We try to make ourselves versatile.”

If you are looking for just tickets, Stubhub had more than 9,000 available as of Monday evening.
They start around $200.

If you just need a plane ride to California, prices are expected to increase as game day approaches.

“From Green Bay now is over $1,000 if you just wanted to go on Friday and come home on Sunday, but if you are flexible to come home Monday or Tuesday you could get a better airfare,” said Michelle Cecchi, the manager at Fox World Travel in Green Bay.

Fox World Travel officials say flights out of Milwaukee are closer to $500 a person with Friday and Monday as travel days.

Travel agents say deals can be found booking things separately, but they recommend buying a package deal.

“To piece things together is not necessarily efficient or a good way to do it,” said Cecchi.

“If it's a real budget-oriented thing for the individual than yes they can save some money, but you get what you pay for,” said Roth.

The Packers play the 49ers at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday.
