GREEN BAY - One of the keys to the matchup Saturday night between the Packers and the Vikings will be the kicking game.
Packers’ kicker Mason Crosby struggled during the regular season, but during the final week against the Vikings he made field goals from 51 yards and 41 yards.
"You're either made or broken from things like this and I definitely am fortunate in the place I'm at in Green Bay that I had the chance to work through it, and that I came out of it," said Crosby.
"I'm very pleased with the way Mason has responded to the tough road that he's gone down and it's time for another week of preparation, get out there and kick in the stadium in weather that will be similar to Saturday night," said head coach Mike McCarthy.
On the flip side the Vikings kicking game has been solid. Rookie kicker and Pro Bowler Blair Walsh ranks top in the NFL with 35 field goals made. He also has the fourth best field goal percentage (92.1%) in the league.
Crosby on the other hand is tied for 24th in the league with 21 field goals made and a field goal percentage of 63.6%.
And when it comes to distance Walsh is 10 for 10 on field goals from 50+ yards, while Crosby is 2 for 9.
