GREEN BAY - Lambeau Field's new south end zone is taking shape, both inside and out.
The team says the $143 million renovation project is on schedule and on budget.
The majority of the outside work is finished. There is still some work to be done on the outside seating.
However, crews have turned their focus indoors.
Doors and counters are already up in the new south end zone suites.
Work is also coming along on the new concession stands and premium seating areas.
"It's all coming together, looking really sharp," explained Hammes Comp. vice president Stuart Zadra. "You know, you see that space, you walk around today, if you looked at it a year ago, at that time, the steel was coming up out of the ground to help support the new scoreboard from last season, now the structure's done, and the building is to the point where it's all fine tuning."
FOX 11 joined the Stadium District Board as members toured the construction Monday afternoon.
Beyond the new amenities, the addition means at least 3,500 fans will be coming off the season ticket waiting list.
Packers officials say several hundred of the 6,700 new seats will be taken by current season ticket holders. So that means those coming off the list, will have some options.
"The bulk will go to the 700 level of the new section, but there will be some seats in the bowl that'll be available to those coming off the waiting list as well," explained Packers director of public affairs Aaron Popkey.
And don't give-up hope if it looks as though you won't make the cut.
"Not everyone on the waiting list when their names actually come up, do they opt to buy the tickets. So we know for sure we'll be reaching out to more than 3,500 and that number could grow based on those who decline," Popkey explained.
Popkey says the finalized list should be complete by this summer.
The entire project is expected to be done in time for Family Night.
