BROWN COUNTY - Packers fans gathered at Tom, Dick & Harry’s in Ashwaubenon on Friday to put the Brett Favre saga to rest with a mock Funeral-4-Favre. It is being put on by local radio station WAPL, complete with casket and all.

“In order for them to get that closer we're giving them the funeral they need because Favre has been dead to us since the day he signed with the Vikings,” said Rick McNeal, WAPL morning show co-host.

The funeral is only one of many ways fans around town are getting "Ready 4 Battle" on Sunday.

There was no indecision for Green Bay City Hall employees on flip-flip Friday.

“It's all in good fun and I think Brett knows that. I don't think we're doing anything mean. It's all in good fun,” said Mary Haupt.

Mayor Jim Schmitt declared the casual footwear holiday in-light of Brett Favre's retirement roller coaster. It had UW-Green Bay a little on edge.

“They called and cleared that last night to make sure. We understand Mr. Mayor it is flip-flop day. What will you be wearing for the installation of the chancellor? I said don't worry I'll make you proud,” said Schmitt.

The back and forth may continue through game day for some fans. Just ask Butch Mianecki; whose Webster Avenue home was featured in USA Today.

"It's going to be like the Limbo at Lambeau. You don't know what to do. When the time comes we'll see how he acts. He might have mellowed out a little. If he did, why not give him a chance,” said Mianecki.

Local design company Arketype is using Favre's flip-flop of colors for charity. It's auctioning off two identical six-foot tall signs with all the proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Club, split between Green Bay and the Twin Cities.

“They're both at about $200 dollars now; we'd like to bump that up. I am sure Vikings fans can do a better job and I know Packers fans can do a great job in getting the signs up,” said Carol Cassell of Arketype.

The first auction closed at a total of $310. The second auction is open until Sunday around 11:00 a.m.
