GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers announced they have activated Defensive End Mike Neal from the exempt status and released Defensive End Phillip Merling.

Neal, a second round pick in 2010, was suspended by the NFL for the first four games of the season for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing drugs. Neal has said that the he was suspended for taking the prescription drug Adderall without informing the league he was doing so.
