GREEN BAY - Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his part in the Packers' 28-27 win over New Orleans last Sunday.
Rodgers completed 31 of 41 passes (75.6 percent) for 319 yards with four touchdowns and one interception for a 119.9 passer rating in the game. He guided an offense that racked up a season-high 421 yards and 30 first downs, the most in a game by Green Bay since Nov. 12, 1989.
With the Packers trailing in the fourth quarter, Rodgers led his team to what proved to be the game-winning drive. Green Bay capped the drive with Rodgers finding Jordy Nelson for a touchdown.
The win also continued a pair of impressive streaks for Rodgers. In his career, the Packers are 23-0 when Rodgers has a passer rating of at least 115. Green Bay is 8-0 when Rodgers has at least four touchdown passes.
This is the sixth time that Rodgers has been honored as Player of the Week. Rodgers and Brett Favre are the only Packers quarterbacks to have won the award six times.
San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis and St. Louis Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein received the NFC Defensive and Specials Teams Player of the Week awards.
