GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers have been busy preparing for the 49ers.
The team was back on the practice field late Tuesday afternoon. The practice was originally scheduled for the morning.
After two physical games and no bye week to rest his players, head coach Mike McCarthy instead pushed practice back to give his guys a few minutes extra rest before what should be a good one in San Francisco.
One notable absence from the Don Hutson Center was wide receiver Jordy Nelson. He was nowhere to be seen during the portion of practice open to the media.
All thoughts and focus are on the San Francisco 49ers, a team that came to Green Bay and won earlier this year. Now the Packers have the chance to return to favor with much more on the line.
“It's the mindset, it's a focus, it's a business trip. It's the us against the world mentality, if you will. But Mike's always done a real good with setting the schedule when we go on the road,” said quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
“We can match what we did last week in practice; of course, coach would make us take pads off and kind of calm it down a little bit. That's a good thing, if we can come out and do that we should be fine,” said defensive end Mike Neal.
“I think both sides are physically and mentally ready to get on the field. It's this late in the year and these games are exciting. I'm done with all the preparation, I'm going to do everything I need but I feel like we're ready to play,” said linebacker A.J. Hawk.
The Packers play the 49ers at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday. It’ll be broadcast on FOX 11.
