GREEN BAY - The Packers defense got better from the regular season to the postseason with the return of Charles Woodson.
Woodson missed the last six games of the regular season with a broken collarbone. But he was back on the field on Sunday and recorded six tackles, including one for a loss.
What difference does that guy make for this defense? Are the players happy to have him back? Just ask them.
“I mean that didn't hurt at all, that helped. Any time you got a playmaker like Wood back, you know, it's not going to do anything but to help our defense,” said defensive lineman Ryan Pickett.
“Just to have him back, have his presence, he's our leader on the defense. Just to have him back brings a lot of energy to the defense, he's a physical guy,” said cornerback Casey Hayward. “Having him back is just great, we welcome him back just like he's never missed a snap.”
The Packers play the 49ers at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday. You can watch the game on FOX 11.
