MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Bucks have signed guard Salim Stoudamire to a
multiyear contract.
The 6-foot-1, 175 pound Stoudamire averaged 8.0 points, 1.4
rebounds and 1.0 assist in 157 games with Atlanta.
The Hawks drafted Stoudamire, 26, out of Arizona with the
31st overall pick in the 2005 draft. He is the team's career leader
in free-throw percentage at 88.2 percent.
The 6-foot-1 Stoudamire was in the San Antonio Spurs' training camp last fall but suffered a serious groin injury and was released. He has not played in the NBA this season.
Stoudamire was signed for the rest of this season and the 2009-'10 season, but the Bucks' intention is not to play him during the remaining five games of the current season.
Bucks general manager John Hammond said Stoudamire's injury was checked out thoroughly and he passed all medical tests.
Information from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel was used in this report.
